A meeting of the citizens of Stonewall District was held at Oak Row on
Sat. the 25th, for the purpose of organizing a club,to be known as the
Stonewall Hancock English Club. The meeting then proceded to organize
, elect officers and enroll members. The following resolution was
adopted; Resloved, That we, the members of the Stonewall Hancock
English Club, do hereby pledge ourselves to support the Democratic
electorial ticket , put forward by the Convention on the 19th,

Northern Neck News, September 16, 1927, Obit:
Mr. Charles H. Fones, residing near here (Nomini Grove) died Saturday
PM last after a few hours of paralyses. Mr. Fones was 68 years old
and although feeble he kept up and around until he was stricken while
sitting in his chair. On Sunday afternoon he was bourne to
Rappahannock Chruch and his funeral services were conducted by his
pastor, A. J. REAMY in an impressive manner. From the church his
remains were taken to the cemetery adjoining the church and gently
laid to rest beside loved ones whom had preceded him. Mr. FONES
leaves a heart-broken widow and one son, Mr. Willie FONES, of
Templemans, and many friends to mourn their loss. Mr. G. P. SELF was
undertaker. Our loving sympathy is with the breaved family. Mrs.
FONES wishes to express her thanks to her friends for their kindness
shown during the illness and death of her husband.
