Obit: HOWDERSHELL, Humphrey-20 Nov 1914 M.J. - Humphrey HOWDERSHELL
died Nov. 7th at his home near Waterfall, at the age of 70yrs. He was
a soldier of the Confederacy having served through the Civil War in
the Sixth Virginia Cavalry. He was married in 1869 to Miss Armenia
PEAKE, who died four years ago. Their Two children, Mr. Lee
HOWDERSHELL, of the Plains, and Mrs. Edith BELL, of Warerfall,
survive. He also leaves two brothers, Messrs. Scott and William
HOWDERSHELL, both of Loudoun County, and two sisters, Mrs. Charles
SINCLAIR, of Hopewell, and Mrs. Cora DAWSON, of Alexandria. His
funeral took place Monday evening from the Episcopal Church at
Hopewell, of which he was a member. Interment was make in the family
burying ground nearby. The officiating minister was the rector Mr.
WOODWARD.

"Louis Aubrey FONES (dob 1918) married my mom Kathryn's sister, Mary
Jane MACHUGA in 1943, Louis and Mary had no children. They were
married in Arkansas in 1943 and lived in Alexandria, VA. until 1953
and then moved to St. Paul, MN.where Uncle Lou died in Aug, 1980.
Aunt Mary recently returned to her hometown of New Kensington, PA.
2009, Uncle Lou was loved by all his nephews and nieces and enjoyed
kidding his "Yankee" relatives."
